Enterprise is the full production runtime deployed into your own AWS account: the admin console, role-based access control, the AI home page, and a managed ALB/ECS deployment — the parts the Developer Edition intentionally omits. Both run in your account; Enterprise adds the production runtime, licensing, and support. See the Enterprise overview and Installation Guide.
Enterprise is licensed via a single Order Form (incorporating the Commercial License and NDA) that captures your terms and your Licensed AWS Account ID. On payment we issue a license token bound to that account. The runtime verifies the token before it deploys. It's a commercial license — not the SGCL that governs the Developer Edition.
Enterprise cost has three parts, and it's structurally different from the free edition's pure pay-per-use model:

Edition, Enterprise runs a managed, always-on runtime (ECS tasks behind an ALB, in a VPC) plus the same serverless data plane. You do — entirely. Enterprise deploys into your AWS account under your IAM; your data never leaves it and Shaleio never receives it. Licensing governs use of the software, not ownership of your data or your AWS resources.
Yes. stratactl uninstall stratabi tears down the runtime. If StrataCI was provisioned with the built-in bootstrap pipeline (stratactl bootstrap --run), stratactl bootstrap --destroy removes it too; if you deployed the runner with your own Terraform/OpenTofu, tear it down the same way (tofu destroy). Every resource is in your account, so teardown is fully under your control.
Yes — start with the free Developer Edition. It shares the same StrataCTL foundation, so nothing you learn is wasted when you move to Enterprise.
